Seek the Lord While He May be Found

“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.” Isaiah 55:6 (NIV)

In the hustle and bustle of life, it’s easy to get caught up in our daily routines, our worries, and our pursuits. Yet, in the midst of it all, God’s invitation echoes through the ages: “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.” These words from Isaiah remind us of the urgency and the privilege of seeking God’s presence.
God is not distant or aloof; He is near to us, ever-present, always ready to listen to our prayers and desires. But are we seeking Him? Are we taking the time to cultivate intimacy with Him? In a world filled with distractions, seeking God requires intentionality. It involves carving out moments in our day to commune with Him, to meditate on His Word, and to pour out our hearts in prayer.
When we seek God, we’re not just going through the motions; we’re pursuing a relationship with the Creator of the universe, the One who knows us intimately and loves us unconditionally. And the promise is clear: when we seek Him, we will find Him. He is not elusive or hidden; He eagerly waits for us to draw near to Him.
So, let’s heed the call to seek the Lord while He may be found. Let’s prioritise spending time in His presence, knowing that in His presence there is fullness of joy and that He satisfies the deepest longings of our souls. May we be like the psalmist who declared, “My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?” (Psalm 42:2). And as we seek Him earnestly, may we experience the richness of His love and the abundance of His grace in our lives.
