Beside Still Waters
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.” – Psalm 23:1-2
Life is a journey marked by unpredictability and change. Even the most careful planning cannot shield us from uncertainty or trial. Such is our human condition that we instinctively try to avoid pain and trauma, yet experience reminds us that none of us are immune from adversity.
Whatever circumstance you may be facing today, remember this: you are not alone. The Lord is near. He is not outside your present situation, neither is He too far to hear your cry or see your need. The truth is, He abides closer than any external struggle you are facing or dilemma that denies you peace. Why? Because He lives quietly within the depths of your heart. When you turn your attention toward Him, your perspective changes and you can begin to see what you could not see before. That’s when hope rises and fear subsides. That’s when a way forward begins to emerge and His peace restores the soul.
The strength we need to endure does not come from our own resolve or ingenuity, but from the Shepherd who attentively leads us. He walks beside us through the valley and turns the shadowed places into green pastures leading us beside the still waters. In Him we find rest from the storm and courage for the road ahead.
Whatever lies before you today, take comfort in this simple truth: the Lord is with you, and His love never fails.
