When we lift our voices in the Lord’s Prayer, asking for His kingdom to come on earth as it is in Heaven, a divine alignment begins. We find ourselves moving in harmony with God’s prophetic calendar, syncing with Heaven’s eternal rhythm. Our lives begin to ebb and flow in those appointed times and seasons according to the sacred cadence where God’s kingdom is already perfectly ordered.
In life’s rhythms, we discover ourselves in varied cadences – a season of soaring like eagles, running with a vision, walking with faith. Yet, all this must emerge from a moment of stillness, a time of waiting. “Wait upon the Lord and renew your strength,” as the scripture beckons. In Exodus 19:4, God reminds us that He bore Israel on eagles’ wings to bring her to Himself. This is the ultimate purpose of our renewed strength: to persevere through opposition and journey into His glorious presence.
An experience of the wilderness is essential, for it is there that we separate ourselves from the world and lean wholly upon our Beloved, Jesus. In this sacred solitude, we forget the world’s ways that run contrary to His divine plans and purpose, instead distractions are dispersed and our wholehearted seeking Him becomes ever more undivided. While we sojourn on this earth, we often find ourselves striving against the currents of worldly affairs, which entice our senses and mire us in earthly clay, hindering our flight on eagles’ wings.
As Psalm 40:2 wonderfully says,
“I waited patiently for the Lord; He inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.”
I hope this encourages you to take a moment if you haven’t already to simply wait upon the Lord. Set and hold your mind upon the beauty of Christ Jesus, for therein lies perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3).
