“For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,” 2 Corinthians 4:17
Amen. Truly greater is the deep affection of God than the light affliction of the world. The trials we face day to day are measured as just brief moments in time that when stacked up together are totally incomparable to the eternal weight of glory that the Lord beckons us into as His bride.
Imagine taking the weight of a single grain of sand and putting it on scales against the glory of a billions of stars in the universe. It’s far beyond what our minds can comprehend and yet if we allow God to widen our hearts and increase our faith through His word, which in itself has perpetual power to expand the universe with just four words, ‘Let there be light’, then we only begin to excavate the surface of His eternal magnificence.
God has promised us that all who believe in His Son Jesus have eternal and everlasting life (John 3).
Praise God! May we stand in greater awe-struck wonder of God, releasing the grains of affliction whilst embracing the all encompassing love of God who upholds all things, including every humble heart, by the Word of His power, for He opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6).
